    Why Was Bagram Targeted?

The striking of Bagram was a gift to someone; it is unclear whether this gift was motivated by fear of North Korea and some other countries on nuclear weapons or missile programs, or for some other reason? It is also unknown whether this “gift” will be accepted. Pakistan’s military regime and intelligence agencies are facing a severe global credibility crisis.

The equipment left in Afghanistan as a legacy of the occupation is far less valuable than the weapons Afghanistan possessed, many of which were destroyed in bombings at the beginning of the occupation.

If Pakistan’s military regime attempts to bomb these remaining weapons, it should understand that in retaliation, Afghanistan will destroy far higher-value military assets in return. According to available information, the Afghan government is fully prepared for this.

So far, Pakistan’s defensive systems have been unable to stop Afghan drones. And if a drone has struck a sensitive location, causing a minor explosion, or even if it hasn’t, it sends a clear message to Pakistan that we can reach you.

If the Pakistani military regime mistakenly bombs the legacy equipment in Afghanistan, it would be a historic error, a miscalculation that would cost them so much that it would be extremely difficult to recover from, especially in their current economic crisis.

The Pakistani military and intelligence agencies should show restraint toward themselves and their country, abandon false pride, and address issues logically and reasonably.

Furthermore, the Pakistani military regime is coercing some soldiers and security personnel of the former republican government to deploy them to the Disputed Line and fight against Afghan government forces, and it is also fighting its own internal opponents.

The Afghan government has announced a general amnesty. The doors of the Afghan government are open to these former military and security personnel. They should resist the coercion of Pakistan’s military and intelligence agencies, and if they choose to return to their homeland, they will receive a warm and respectful welcome.
