The Secretariat of the High Commission for Addressing Migrants’ Problems announced that on Thursday, July 9, 2026, it provided a wide range of services to returning Afghan families, including registration, transportation, cash assistance, healthcare, and public awareness programs.
According to the commission, 568 families, comprising 2,940 people, returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala, and Bahramcha border crossings and were officially registered. In addition, 609 families were transported from the border areas to their home provinces, with all transportation costs covered.
The report said cash assistance was distributed to 638 families, while hundreds of returnees received healthcare and telecommunications services. A total of 607 SIM cards with active service packages were also distributed.
Meanwhile, the Committee for the Permanent Settlement of Refugees and Land Distribution allocated residential land plots to 618 returning families in Nangarhar, Farah, Faryab, and Nimroz provinces. The latest allocations bring the total number of residential land plots distributed to returning families countrywide to 58,348.
