The Khost provincial office announced in a statement that officials at the Ghulam Khan border crossing blocked the import of a trailer carrying substandard potatoes from Pakistan to Afghanistan and returned the shipment.

According to the statement, the shipment, which was imported from Pakistan, underwent a thorough inspection by the Plant Quarantine Management officials at Ghulam Khan. After a detailed examination, the officials rejected the potatoes and sent them back to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, officials from the Khost Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock called on all traders to import only high-quality products to ensure that citizens have access to safe and clean goods.

It is worth noting that two days earlier, officials at the same border had also blocked the import of a trailer carrying substandard corn from Pakistan into Afghanistan.
