The General Directorate of Environmental Protection has announced that its Director, Mawlawi Matiul Haq Khalis, headed an Afghan delegation at the International Urban Forum in Azerbaijan, where Afghanistan’s environmental and climate-related challenges were presented to the international community.
According to the authority, the delegation outlined Afghanistan’s perspectives and priorities regarding climate change, drought, air pollution, and other environmental challenges during the forum’s technical and specialized sessions.
The discussions also focused on sustainable urban development and the growing challenges facing cities and urban environments.
The authority added that the Afghan delegation is expected to hold additional meetings with representatives of international organizations and various countries to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences in the environmental sector.
