The President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, said in recent remarks that much of the criticism directed at the government is due to the public’s high expectations and a lack of awareness regarding reforms.

He added that as a result of the war, around one-third of Syria’s urban infrastructure has been damaged, and its reconstruction will require significant time and a budget ranging from $140 billion to $345 billion, which cannot be implemented quickly.

Ahmed al-Sharaa further stated that Syria has emerged from a severe war and, according to him, he is making full efforts to implement deep reforms and carry out reconstruction.
