In 2015, the then Minister of Interior of the fallen republic, General Noor-ul-Haq Alomi, had pointed out an important issue in a meeting, stating that behind the insecurity in the north were our “friends.” However, he did not provide further clarification, nor did the then president and the parliament seek an explanation from him about who was behind this issue and why they had caused insecurity. Alomi’s statement that the armed militias of the coalition were the source of insecurity in the north was a matter of investigation and scrutiny. The General Alomi had previously stated that the armed militias of the coalition were the cause of insecurity in the north.
Pashtuns residing in the north were deprived of all fundamental rights from the beginning to the fall of the previous republican regime; in Kunduz and other northern provinces, local people, especially Pashtuns, were oppressed by the militias of local commanders, including Atta Noor and Amrullah Saleh. The stories of the atrocities committed by Commander Mir Alam in Kunduz, who was fully supported by Amrullah Saleh, are particularly infamous and unparalleled, as he executed 26 innocent citizens in one night and left their families in mourning.
Recently, Amrullah Saleh made statements blaming the United States and Western countries for two historical betrayals of Afghanistan. He claimed in a conference that the U.S. had betrayed the Afghan nation twice: once at the beginning of the 1990s and again in August 2021. This means they considered the occupation of Afghanistan by foreign invaders as a legitimate right and their claim reflects the extent of their servitude, where they sold the land of Muslims (Afghanistan) under the hooves of infidel oppressors. It was the betrayal of these internal traitors that led NATO to confidently invade Afghanistan, and they stood against Islam alongside the Crusaders by providing ground forces and coordinates.
Amrullah Saleh is famous for his close ties with the CIA, having been raised under their training and placed in high positions (Minister of Interior, Director of National Security, Head of Foreign Operations, etc.) in the previous republican regime during the occupation by the Americans. These infamous figures reached high positions not through any other merit but because, during the Russian occupation, he conducted espionage activities for the CIA alongside Ahmad Shah Masoud. He reached these positions thanks to the CIA’s money and lobbying. Today, he speaks against America; this is not only laughable but also a failed attempt to deceive the people and prove his own innocence. Because Amrullah Saleh was part of those circles that played a significant role in Afghanistan’s political, intelligence, and security structures to achieve American strategic objectives.
From Ghani to Saleh and other officials who were part of the previous republican system; they are considered the main culprits behind corruption, injustices, ethnic favoritism, and many other failures. But now that the republic has fallen, blaming foreigners has become a common practice for them, and they see it as an easy way to cover up their failures.
Amrullah Saleh is now trying to distort the memory of history and create the impression that only the United States is responsible for the fall of the Kabul administration. Meanwhile, the intelligence agencies under his leadership have a long history of injustices, targeted killings, detentions, and torture against the general public.
Various international research institutions have confirmed that ISIS centers expanded in the north and east under the shadow of Amrullah Saleh. According to evidence and local reports, during the previous republican regime, the current caretaker government had launched operations against ISIS in some northern provinces (Sar-e Pol, Jowzjan, and Badakhshan). However, the National Security and Defense Ministry of that time rescued ISIS members with the help of helicopters and transferred them to safe locations. Such incidents have sparked extensive discussions among the people.
In Badakhshan, the Taliban had also launched several anti-ISIS operations, but some reports indicate that the National Security Agency did not take serious action against them. Instead, behind-the-scenes measures were taken to ensure their survival. Some local leaders, religious scholars, and even former government officials and members of the Wolesi Jirga (such as Zahir Qadir) confirmed that in some mountainous districts of Badakhshan and eastern provinces, Daesh was funded by those intelligence networks that had connections with Amrullah Saleh.
The above reasons all indicate that Amrullah Saleh and others like him are now fleeing from reality and making baseless accusations against the United States or the current caretaker government to cover up their past.
