Former Republic Deputy Defense MinisterTamim Asi: Some Anti-Taliban Fronts and Self-Styled Women’s Rights Activists Are Committing National Betrayal by Serving Pakistan’s Interests for Millions of Dollars

Tamim Asi, who served as Afghanistan’s deputy defense minister during the former republic, stated that Pakistan is funding a large-scale psychological warfare campaign through an extensive network of media outlets operating abroad, NGO activists, self-styled women’s rights advocates, and at least two Afghan political missions.

According to Asi, the network and its affiliates are carrying out a coordinated psychological campaign against Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity in return for millions of dollars, allocations of Pakistani visas, funded trips to European capitals, and access to guesthouses and office facilities in two Pakistani cities.

Asi further said that some anti-Taliban fronts are actively promoting narratives that support the partition of Afghanistan, fuel ethnic divisions, and undermine the country’s image in international forums. He said the ultimate goal is to drive Afghanistan toward civil war and create conditions similar to those witnessed in Syria and Sudan.

He stressed that domestic political disputes should be resolved through dialogue and political understanding, adding that aligning with foreign intelligence agencies against one’s own country is unacceptable and constitutes national betrayal.

Asi also said he would provide further details in a future statement about what he described as a dangerous project and the broader psychological warfare campaign being carried out against Afghanistan.
