The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has issued a formal statement denouncing the ongoing mistreatment of Afghan refugees in neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan, calling such actions unlawful and in violation of human dignity.

According to the statement, Afghan refugees in Pakistan are being arbitrarily detained from their homes, shops, and marketplaces. Following their forced transfer to detention facilities, they are compelled to return to Afghanistan against their will.

The ministry stated that Afghan refugees are facing abuse, having their properties looted, and their household belongings seized, the ministry described such actions as violations of Islamic teachings, basic human rights, and international laws.

The ministry urged the Pakistani government to promptly cease the violence and discriminatory treatment of Afghan refugees, emphasizing that they should no longer be exploited for political gain.

The Ministry added that the interim government of Afghanistan has begun preparations to receive returning refugees. However, it stressed that the ongoing mistreatment by neighboring countries is neither justifiable nor tolerable.

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation emphasized that all Afghan refugees must be granted the right to return to their homeland along with their possessions, assets, and household items without obstacles.
