    National Procurement Commission Approves 16 Projects Worth AFN 3.5 Billion

    The National Procurement Commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mawlawi Abdul Ghani Baradar, held its regular meeting on Wednesday at the Marble Palace.

    According to a statement from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, 40 projects were submitted for approval. Following discussions, the commission approved 16 projects worth nearly AFN 3.5 billion and approved a series of necessary amendments to 20 other projects.

    The statement said the approved and amended projects include the Qadis Khordak water reservoir dam in Badghis Province, geotechnical studies for the Kilagi Dam in Baghlan Province, and the completion of the remaining work on a cold storage facility with a capacity of 600 metric tons in Paktika Province.

    The projects also include the design and installation of oil storage facilities with a capacity of 10,000 tons for the Amu River oil basin, the construction of a 50-bed general hospital in Charchino District of Uruzgan Province, the construction of a cargo truck terminal in Tarinkot, the provincial capital of Uruzgan, the construction of several roads in Kabul, and the completion of electricity transmission and distribution projects in various provinces.

    The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs stated that all approved projects are funded through the budget of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
