The technical committee of the Economic Commission, operating under the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has approved a proposal to strengthen the capacity of the National Statistics and Information Authority and modernize its existing systems after a thorough review.
According to the source, the proposal is expected to be implemented within one year, with an estimated budget of approximately one billion Afghanis. The initiative is aimed at speeding up service delivery to citizens and enhancing overall transparency in operations.
The Economic Commission meeting also stressed the importance and need for developing a master plan for the country’s border crossings.
Officials from the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said that work is ongoing on master plans for the Islam Qala, Nimroz, Torghundi, and Abu Nasr Farahi border crossings. They added that the projects are progressing as scheduled and are expected to be completed in due time.
