Nationalism and Sham Coalitions; The Officials of the Fallen Republic are Striving for Personal Power

Nearly four years have passed since the establishment of the caretaker government; a government that, contrary to the expectations of most of its opponents, was able to consolidate its power much sooner than anticipated and significantly organize the country’s administrative, security, and economic structures.

While many believed that this government would not withstand the numerous internal challenges and external pressures, its achievements in ensuring security, combating corruption, and launching infrastructure projects showed that, contrary to negative propaganda, it has the capability to govern the country.

During all this time, the officials of the fallen Republican regime made numerous efforts to appear as if they were taking action against the caretaker government and to present achievements to their foreign supporters; efforts that were repeatedly met with failure and even faced setbacks before any results could be seen.

Creating various coalitions with different names was one of their repetitive and failed methods in confronting the caretaker government; coalitions that many of them fell apart before they could take a cohesive form, and their members dispersed as before.

Behind the collapse of these coalitions, various factors were involved, and in this note, a brief mention is made to some of the most important ones:

    1. Ethnic Rivalries:
One of the main reasons for the instability of these coalitions was the ethnic differences among their members; the leaders of these factions were more interested in promoting their own ethnic group and position than in considering the collective interests. These ethnic biases led to mutual distrust and prevented the formation of a united and coordinated front.
    2. Political Differences:
Differences in viewpoints and conflicting stances regarding the future were another reason for the collapse of these coalitions. Some of their members identified themselves as supporters of the return of the republican system in meetings, while others called for the establishment of structures like federalism. Instead of creating unity, these differences deepened the rifts among them.
    3. Internal Discord:
Dishonesty, secret plotting, and attempts to eliminate each other from within were other fundamental factors behind the failure of these alliances. Many prominent figures in these alliances, instead of working together, became embroiled in personal and political rivalries and conspired against their comrades to gain the support of intelligence circles.
    4. Personal Interests:
Ultimately, ambitions and personal interests played the main role in the collapse of these alliances; the figures who were active in these coalitions were not working for the common good, but rather to regain power, plunder public assets, secure more privileges, and maintain their previous positions.

Considering all these reasons, it becomes clear that the opponents of the caretaker government not only failed to form a united front but have also become increasingly discredited due to internal conflicts, individual ambitions, and external dependencies.
