Hawzah News reported that Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, said divisions and disagreements among Muslims give their enemies greater opportunities to pursue their objectives. He called on Muslims to return to the fundamental teachings of Islam.
According to the report, Zakzaky made the remarks at a gathering marking the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
He stressed the importance of Muslim unity, saying divisions created along religious or ethnic lines cannot resolve the problems facing the Muslim Ummah and instead serve the interests of its enemies.
Zakzaky said strengthening Muslim unity, understanding the strategies of their enemies, and returning to the original teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, are among the key ways to address the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.
