The National Statistics and Information Authority reported that 2,454 foreign citizens visited Afghanistan via airports and land borders during the past month.
According to the authority’s statement, in December, 1,316 foreign nationals, including 43 women, entered the country, while 1,138 others, including 26 women, departed.
Of the visitors to Afghanistan, 1,296 entered through land borders, while 20 arrived by air. Among them, 199 traveled to explore the country’s historical and cultural sites, while the majority arrived for work-related purposes.
The statement further added that most foreign citizens entered the country through the Nimroz border crossing, Herat’s airports and borders, the Torkham crossing, and Aqina port in Faryab province.
