In recent statements made by the head of the Political Office of the Resistance Front, Abdullah Khanjani, to a private media outlet, it has become even clearer that this front is not working for the peace, stability, and national unity of Afghanistan, but rather for war, the return of foreign invaders, and the creation of divisions among ethnic groups.
Khanjani insisted that the U.S. should return to Bagram, but through engagement with the Resistance Front instead of the caretaker government. This demand once again revealed that the Resistance Front still hopes for the reoccupation by foreign invaders and holds no value for Afghanistan’s independence and national sovereignty.
Moreover, Khanjani has claimed that Bagram is part of the Tajiks’ security and geographical domain. Such statements, which divide geography along ethnic lines, open the door to dangerous ethnic biases and are a clear enmity against national unity. It is clear that Afghanistan is the name of a single nation, not a fragmented map of ethnicities. This kind of expression of the Resistance Front’s stance is a warning and a wake-up call for those who consider this front national.
This front, which introduces itself as a proponent of democratic values, in practice promotes the continuation of war against national values, independence, peace, and justice. Their armed activities, focus on military solutions instead of political ones, eagerness for the reoccupation, and reliance on foreign support show that they favor a war-torn, divided, and occupied Afghanistan instead of an independent and peaceful one.
The claim of the Resistance Front that they and other opposing groups of the caretaker government are trustworthy allies has no connection with the nation, because the nation does not want war; the nation wants peace and stability. Therefore, this front is neither national nor represents the values of Afghanistan, but rather seeks to play with the blood of the Afghan people for their limited political and personal goals.
