Afghanistan’s golden history is filled with glorious days, such glorious days that, thanks to the countless sacrifices of the Afghan faithful and Mujahid people, have shone on the pages of history; one of them is the day of the defeat of the Red Army in Afghanistan, which is the 26th of Dalwa.

When the Soviet Union’s Red Army invaded Afghanistan on the 6th of Jadi, 1358, they thought they would conquer this land by force, subdue the nation and impose their communist ideology through their slaves. But they did not realize that this nation and land would never accept foreign invaders, foreign ideologies, foreign rulers, or a life of servitude.

The faithful and brave Afghan people never surrendered to any hardship; they created a history of sacrifice and martyrdom. The Afghan nation extended their struggle from the scorching heat of Helmand’s deserts, the mountainous valleys of Kunar, the white peaks of the Hindu Kush, to every corner of the country. Ultimately, after nearly a decade of resistance, they expelled the Red Army from the country.

Dalwa 26, 1367, was the day of defeat for a superpower that had plans to conquer the whole world. The conquest phase had reached Afghanistan under the banner of the Soviet Union. However, the Afghan faithful and Mujahid people have always bravely defended their Islamic sanctities and homeland. In this phase, they stood firmly against the Soviet Union and defeated them.

Although the Soviet Union had initiated an unequal war in Afghanistan, the Afghan people resisted with determination and bravery. Thanks to countless sacrifices, they brought the Soviet Union to the brink of defeat and this defeat marked the beginning of the complete collapse and disintegration of the Soviet Union in the region and the world.

Dalwa 26 is not just a day of pride and a historical date; it is also a lesson for the world. If the Afghan nation, with its steel-like faith, unity and sacrifice, can repel a superpower like the Soviet Union, then it can defeat any invader or alliance. The Western world did not heed this lesson and launched another invasion of Afghanistan, but they too were expelled from the country after fierce resistance.
