U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that, due to the cold weather in Ukraine, he requested a one-week ceasefire from Russian President Vladimir Putin, which Putin reportedly accepted.

Trump said, “We asked President Putin if it would be possible to have a ceasefire for one week. He agreed to this request, and we appreciate this decision.”

He added that efforts to reach a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine are ongoing, with significant progress reportedly made.

Trump also noted that his special envoy, Witekoff, is working intensively to bring Moscow and Kyiv closer to an agreement.

However, Russian officials have not yet responded to Trump’s claims.
