U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States has entered into direct negotiations with Iran, stating that the talks had already begun and are expected to continue until the coming Saturday.

Trump made the remarks on Monday night at the White House during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He added, “I believe everyone agrees that reaching an agreement with Tehran is the right path forward—and it would be more beneficial for Tehran than anything else.”

This statement comes as Reuters reported a day earlier, citing a senior Iranian official who said that Iran was seeking indirect talks with the United States and had also issued warnings to regional countries regarding a potential attack on Iran.
