Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has declared that Kyiv is ready to engage in direct negotiations with Russia in pursuit of ending the ongoing war.

Sybiha shared the remarks on his X after holding phone talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and several European counterparts.

“I confirm Kyiv’s readiness to take new steps toward peace. We are prepared to join presidential-level summits and meetings anywhere in the world,” he wrote.

The statement comes shortly after Russia’s foreign minister signaled Moscow’s willingness to negotiate as well, stressing that any talks must be genuine and centered on reaching a just resolution to the conflict.
