The United Nations Security Council has extended the mandate of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) for another year.
According to reports, all 15 members of the Security Council voted in favor of the one-year extension during the council’s meeting today.
It is worth noting that the resolution to extend UNAMA’s mandate in Afghanistan was submitted to the Security Council by China.
