The Ministry of Public Health reported that 280,000 drug addicts throughout the country received health services over the past year.

According to the ministry, the services were provided by the Directorate of the National Drug Addiction Treatment Program in both the capital and the provinces. The initiative aims to deliver comprehensive treatment to addicted patients, enabling them to overcome substance abuse and return to normal life.

The Ministry of Public Health stated that it is working to further expand comprehensive services for addicted patients, while also strengthening public awareness programs aimed at preventing drug use.

The ministry noted that during the period of the fallen republic, widespread corruption, mismanagement, and abuse of power at the state level caused hundreds of thousands of people, including women and children, to become addicted to drugs and ultimately turn into a burden on society.

Following the return of the Islamic Emirate and the restoration of nationwide peace in the country, treatment for these addicts has begun. The cultivation of narcotics has nearly been eliminated, tens of thousands of addicts have reunited with their families, and the treatment of thousands of others is currently underway.
