The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs has stated that 60% of the first phase and 74% of the second phase of the Wakhan Corridor project have been completed, and it is expected to be fully completed by the end of the current solar year 1405.

According to the source, the first phase of the project extends from the Broghil border in Badakhshan Province to Bozai Gumbad, covering a distance of 71.13 kilometers, with a budget of 143 million Afghanis allocated for its implementation.

Similarly, the second phase stretches from Bozai Gumbad to the Chinese border, with a length of 50.49 kilometers and a budget of 180 million Afghanis.

Economic analysts say that once the Wakhan Corridor is completed, it will pave the way for direct trade between Kabul and Beijing and significantly boost the country’s transit sector.
