Recently, the internal verbal disputes and media squabbles among the so-called political and military opposition factions in Afghanistan once again indicate the deep instability and lack of understanding, which have overshadowed the foundations of these factions from the beginning. The leaders of the so-called fronts of Freedom, Resistance, United, and others, who occasionally make harsh statements against each other on media pages, propaganda addresses, and communication groups, clearly show that their goal is not to understand the real situation of the country, but rather to compete in the media to obtain and maintain their personal and factional privileges.
In the audio clips and statements released among the leaders of these fronts, such as Yasin Zia’s recent remarks made in a veiled manner against the United Front and other opponents, open accusations have been exchanged regarding financial resources and weak foundations. Yasin Zia said that a front cannot be maintained with five thousand dollars, and that two and five thousand dollars will also be taken away by some Jalalabadi or Northerner tomorrow. His statements clearly demonstrate the lack of strategic thinking and the superficiality of political vision among the opponents. Such statements show that these movements are based not on any sacred or national values, but on material and temporary interests.
These internal disagreements among the opponents do not remain limited to verbal disputes, but can also have a profound impact on their practical and strategic actions. These cheap attempts to outdo each other and stay in the media spotlight have caused the gap between them to widen further and completely eliminate the possibility of forming a united and cohesive strategy. When the leaders of proxy groups are engaged in battles over power, money, and influence among themselves, naturally, the structures under their leadership also suffer from distrust and fragmentation.
Beyond the media hype and Facebook victories, the practical outcome of these fronts in Afghanistan is zero. The people within the country, who have bitter experiences of years of wars, hardships, and foreign interventions, are no longer deceived by such empty slogans and media dramas. The complete lack of influence of these factions among the people and the total absence of domestic support prove that these groups are only kept active in the online world with the support of foreign entities and for certain specific objectives.
Such rivalries among the opponents also reveal the foreign interventions and intelligence agendas that seek to exploit the name of Afghanistan and the pure concept of resistance for their own nefarious purposes. The leaders of opposing groups, with foreign support, strive to suppress and defame each other; in reality, the opponents are paving the way for foreign occupation and imposed miseries on the shoulders of the people. Such efforts by the opposition for foreign powers are no longer hidden from anyone’s eyes, and the political weight of these movements on a regional and global scale is decreasing day by day due to these malicious actions.
As long as these so-called fronts do not abandon personal ambitions, biases, and foreign dependencies, they will never be able to play any positive and constructive role in Afghanistan’s future. For a successful movement, it needs sound ideas, national unity, and sincere service, not weak, backward, and malicious actions that only pave the way for foreign occupation, destroy the country’s infrastructure, cause the disintegration of the people, oppress them, and impose foreign wars.
