The Ministry of Public Works has reported that 873,981 metric tons of goods were transported through the country’s railway network during the first month of year 1405 solar hijri.
The Ministry stated that the Hairatan port accounted for the largest share of transportation, with a total of 577,989 metric tons handled through the facility.
According to figures released by the ministry, exports accounted for 63 tons of the total volume, with dried fruits and pomegranate juice making up the largest share.
The Ministry of Public Works further stated that it is continuing efforts to expand facilities for traders to further ease the transportation of goods via the railway network.
