Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a warning to the West, particularly the United States, stating that if Western nations deploy troops to Ukraine, Moscow will consider them legitimate military targets.
In addition, Putin rejected the idea that peacekeeping forces should be stationed in Ukraine following a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
He further emphasized that security guarantees are essential for both Russia and Ukraine.
Putin’s remarks come as one of the key proposals from Europe and the United States in peace talks is the deployment of peacekeeping forces to Ukraine after the war ends.
