The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs announced that on Wednesday (August 27), Mirwais Azizi, the Chairman of Azizi Energy Group, along with his technical team, presented a progress report on the 10,000-megawatt electricity generation project to Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.

According to the statement, the Azizi Energy Group chairman said that after the agreement was signed, his teams, along with the technical teams of relevant ministries, were dispatched to Baghlan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Herat, and Bamyan provinces. Over the past two weeks, they have conducted initial surveys of several projects and collected technical data.

He added that the 10,000-megawatt power generation project has been divided into three phases, with the first phase having a capacity of 4,000 megawatts.

According to Azizi Energy Group officials, practical work on the existing projects under the first phase will soon begin in coordination with the relevant ministries and agencies.

At the same time, based on the guidance of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, a joint committee comprising representatives from the relevant ministries, agencies, and the Azizi company has been formed and tasked with monitoring and overseeing the progress of the 10,000-megawatt electricity generation project.
