The U.S. Department of State has officially designated Yemen’s Ansarullah group as a “global terrorist group,” citing its periodic attacks on Israeli and American targets.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the department noted that since 2023, Ansarullah fighters have launched hundreds of attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The Ansarullah group has previously stated that its attacks on Israeli and American targets are carried out in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
