Some time ago, a devastating earthquake shook the northern provinces of the country; an earthquake that resulted in the martyrdom of some of our compatriots and the injury of others. This terrifying earthquake, in addition to causing loss of life, also left behind immense financial damage.
After the earthquake occurred, the first aid and relief efforts for the earthquake victims were carried out excellently by the country’s Ministry of Defense forces and relevant officials. In subsequent stages, NGO and even other countries expressed their sympathy with the earthquake victims by issuing statements, while some others took action and sent initial aid to the people of the north.
Meanwhile, the escapees and politicians of the collapsed republic, who have consistently called themselves representatives of this nation since the fall of the republic and falsely claim to represent the people of the north, have done nothing but sit idly by. Not only did they provide no material or moral support to the grieving people of the north, but they also saw this disaster as an opportunity and used the people’s sorrow as a pretext to achieve their evil goals.
Yes! The same people who plundered all the assets of the public treasury during the twenty years of the republic, seized public properties, and traded on the blood of the nation, have not ceased their treachery and wickedness even now that they have been rejected by the very people they exploited, and are even exploiting the grief and sorrow of their own people.
These false representatives, while speaking of the government’s inefficiency and accusing it of not doing enough to help earthquake victims thru the publication and distribution of lengthy statements, themselves did nothing during the most difficult and bitter days of the Afghan people, and instead added to the suffering of this nation.
For example, we can point to the COVID-19 pandemic during the incompetent republican regime, a period when the general public of Afghanistan was in a deplorable state and in the worst physical and mental condition. However, the government officials of the time were busy with revelry, and even the governor of Herat at the time, instead of finding a solution to this suffering, addressed the people of this land with utter shamelessness, saying that we have dug mass graves for you.
How is it possible that these infamous figures, with their few empty declarations and slogans, can call themselves sympathizers of a nation whose suffering and misery they were the main cause of for years? In contrast, the current Afghan government, despite economic limitations and numerous problems, practically stood by the people and mobilized all its resources to save the lives of the injured and provide shelter for the homeless.
It is no secret to anyone that in the early hours, defense and security forces swiftly reached the affected areas and, with the dedication of the people, pulled them from under the rubble; an action that once again showed the difference between the empty slogans of the self-proclaimed republicans and the sincere performance of the true servants of the nation.
The people of Afghanistan today know very well who stood by them in difficult times and who were only thinking of their own personal interests. This tragic event was a test to once again reveal the true faces of traitors and the sincere; people who, even in the most difficult circumstances, maintained their unity and solidarity thanks to divine grace, and with trust in Allah and the support of their government, rose from under the rubble of disaster and wrote a new chapter of resilience and faith in the history of this land.
