The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs says that a regular meeting of the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission discussed the export of the asafoetida medicinal plant to foreign countries, along with the challenges facing the sector.
According to the source, the discussions concluded with a decision that a committee led by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce would carry out a comprehensive assessment and submit its findings to the Economic Commission, along with specific recommendations.
Asafoetida is among Afghanistan’s medicinal plants exported in significant quantities to foreign markets, with many citizens countrywide engaged in its cultivation and collection.
